Jackie Southern is studying BA History of Art at Birkbeck College, University of London. Specialist Course Modules include Art & Architecture in Rome c.1500-1527; and Strategies of Display (the history of the gallery and concept of the White Cube). As part of her Dissertation, she is researching Raphael’s School of Athens fresco as a type of representation of Philosophy and understanding why his composition made such an impression. Personal research interests include the influence of Byzantine Art on Western Europe; architectural development and Cathedral design; and ancient Greek mythology.

Jackie is an Executive Assistant, supporting two department heads, at an Investment Bank in the City of London where she also oversees the business operations for a team of over 50 researchers.

This Blog is a personal project and forms an extension of her current research and interests in art and architecture.
